We want to thank everyone who joined us on October 4, 2014, for the Heroes on Hines Half Marathon and 5K. Even though it was a rainy and windy day the event was truly inspiring.

We are proud to announce that the Sumpter Township Police Department team came in FIRST PLACE in the fastest mixed team competition. We are also proud to announce that with the help of the many family, friends and community members who joined us in the event, the Sumpter Township Police Department won FIRST PLACE in the Community Spirit competition, bettering last year’s third place finish.

Whether you ran or helped cheer us on your support for the team, the memorial and honoring the memory of late Officer Roy Graham was truly appreciated. Hope to see everyone and more for next year’s event.

Congratulations and special recognition to the five half marathoners:

Sergeant Patrick Gannon,
Officer Ryan Parise,
Officer George Salajan III,
Operations Coordinator Malissa Paquette, and her husband,
Mike Paquette.

Congratulations to the 5Kers:

Captain Eric Luke
Sergeant Chris McGlynn
Detective/Corporal John Toth
Officer Danielle Buccellato
Officer Colleen Carefelle
